Winter in Montana

It has been cold here in Montana! It’s not unusual to get an artic blast during winter, and thankfully they don’t usually last too long, but they are not pleasant either. We prepped our alpaca paddocks and shelters with thick straw bedding and added extra alfalfa and warm soaked beets to their diet. It’s amazing how these animals handle the temperatures. It was tough weather, but we made it through. I was grateful for warm winter gear and alpaca scarves! They really kept me warm during animal chores.

The Christmas season has been good to us. We loved hearing and seeing how many items were purchased as gifts for loved ones, and that means a lot to us. All of our family gifts arrived at their destinations, from the East Coast to Germany. That was so much fun, knitting these scarves for them.

As for 2024, it started off with a nice challenge when our knitting machine threw lots of errors, but with some maintenance, we got that sorted out. This machine is a beast, but it requires regular love and attention to run smoothly. We also celebrated our first delivery to Yellowstone National Park! We are very excited for this opportunity that our scarves will be available in select stores in the park. We will update our retail locations soon. We look forward to our next year in business and have so much planned for this year, from new designs to more training and new retail locations. 2024, here we go!
