As we are approaching our 3-year anniversary with our beloved knitting machine, we reflect on our early days with this marvelous piece of machinery. Intrigued and intimidated have we embarked on this journey to transform artistic ideas into functional apparel.
Since then, we have advanced from early test samples to knitting thousands of scarves. That is the beauty of blending art with technology. During our ever-evolving adventure we have focused our efforts, and we are thrilled for the improvements coming to Sapphire Alpaca.
This year is packed with growth, opportunity and goals and we cannot wait to share each exciting milestone with you when the time comes.

Shout Out to International Forwarding Academy
It takes a village, and we are so thankful to Juerg and Frank, who have taken their decades long experiences in freight forwarding to create the International Forwarding Academy. Their business offers expert-led education for international logistics. Three years ago, they have helped us bring our first knitting machine here from Europe and are once again helping us facilitate the shipment of our new knitting machine!
In an ever-changing and fast-moving shipping world, we are truly grateful for their knowledge and expertise. Importing machinery was not on our mind when we decided to knit alpaca scarves, but since industrial knitting machines aren’t manufactured stateside, we needed to reach across the world to bring knitting capability here.
