Pin Drafter and Spinner arrived

Sometimes miracles do happen. We have slowly been acquiring the equipment needed to process fiber from raw to yarn. In our fiber processing page, you can see how many steps are needed to get from point A to point B. Each step requires either manual labor and/or a highly specialized machine that has one purpose and one purpose only. These machines are expensive, so we were incredibly grateful when an opportunity arrived when the pin drafter and spinning machine became available to us. We purchased these machines from a business in Idaho that is going into retirement. When we visited to see the machines, we were in awe at the beautiful roving and yarn they created with these machines. It is a loss for the fiber world that their custom processing services are no longer available, but we cherish these machines and are grateful that they will continue to make yarn, their sole purpose.

It has been quite the process to acquire all the machines needed. We literally sourced our machine from three continents, we bought brand new and historic machines. We purchased domestic and international builds, and we finally have our mill complete! This is a huge step for our business. Next up our electrician will connect these machines and then we will be off to making yarn from Montana alpacas!
